The bad news is that I have some more (or possibly the remains of old) crud in my lungs. And a new set of holes in my arms. And a CRP of around 55 (should be 5-ish in a healthy person, might be in the mid-hundreds for a seriously ill person).

The good news is that the nice doctor in A&E sent me home, since the pain in my lower right chest proved manageable by paracetamol, the X-ray showed only a "blunted costophrenic angle" not a proper occlusion, and my CRP indicated that I'm probably infected but not ill ill. I'm to keep an eye on myself, and hit the health centre if I find myself short of breath after sitting up in bed as opposed to walking up the road. I get the feeling that I was a bit premature. But after the last adventure, I didn't really want to put it off until I was that ill.

Shall I post a picture of my cannula and the other holes in my arms?

Just consumed the last of my antibiotics. I should pop out and do some shopping now.

I was essentially blogging my hospital stay in a thread to Tangency, so I'm reblogging the longer posts here, suitably time-shifted, now I'm home.

This one's not about me:

And that's it, really. I got signed out on Sunday after a day without oxy and reasonable blood-oxygen reading. I missed the bus by a few minutes, and while I was working out if there was any good reason to wait an hour for the next one instead of walking for a half-hour home, I heard the throaty rumble of a Merlin engine cruising by, looked up and there was what was almost certainly a Hurricane (I didn't have my distance glasses with me). My memory of that is a Cinemascope frame, dutch-angle, looking up at me looking at the Hurricane, the sunshine glinting off the canopy, against a blue sky. This is inaccurate in almost every way.

Another reblog coming, though it doesn't have much to do with me.
